In Grandma's House
My grandparents took care of me since I was born, I spend almost my whole childhood in my grandma's house. The four years of overseas study was the most prolonged period of separation between my grandparents and me. When I could not return to China to visit them, my grandma suffered from autonomic disorders. She often misses me and often tells me stories about my childhood. Art and memory can heal, so I created this illustration to record my wonderful childhood with my grandparents.
Inspiration
My grandma believes in Buddhism. Thus I reorganized everything into one Tibetan Tangka art style for a better visual presentation, and each circle shows the little girl growing up. I want to record every authentic element between my grandparents and me, such as how we play.
